I'm Johanna Frenzel, a freelance English to German localisation specialist for games and narrative content. Since 2019, I've worked with game developers, publishers and localisation agencies, contributing over 3 million translated words to more than 150 titles, from AAA and indie games to mobile titles and visual novels.With an academic background in English and North American Studies, I combine linguistic expertise with a strong understanding of cultural context. My work is rooted in a lifelong passion for storytelling, whether in games, books or film, and in a fascination with the voices, characters and worlds that make each story memorable.

Spindrift Creations takes its name from Dylan Thomas' poem In My Craft or Sullen Art. It reflects my belief that localisation is a craft that demands care, precision and respect for both the original work and the audience it is written for.
